With 19 participating countries and 1.2 million visitors in 2017, this event has become the first international event dedicated to crafts.
These Days are meant to promote the know-how preciously developed over the centuries in the design, creation, maintenance and restoration of handicrafts. The general public is invited, during a weekend in April, to meet the craftsmen in the very place of their creation.
Switzerland has participated in the European Days of Crafts since 2012 at the initiative of the City of Geneva joined by the Canton of Vaud since 2014, by the Republic and Canton of Jura, by the Republic and Canton of Geneva since 2015 and, since 2016, by the Republic and Canton of Neuchâtel.
Ongoing contacts with other cantons and various professional groups bode well for development across the country and gives hope that non-French speaking cantons will join the movement.
Meet these passionate crafts masters in the very place of their creation.
