Initiated five years ago, the study days of the conservation-restoration sector of the Museum of Art and History continue to allow the presentation of the main works carried out in 2018 to the public, amateur and professional.

This year, a particular focus is proposed around restorations carried out as part of the ancient season of the Museums of Art and History.

The morning will be dedicated to a series of lectures presenting case studies and conservation and restoration treatments. Detailed program on www.mah-geneve.ch

Lectures in the museum auditorium

Friday, April 5, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Five conferences of approximately 30 minutes:

  • Daniel Huguenin, Brice Duffour, "Epigraphic steles: the laser as an alternative"
  • Bernadette Rey-Bellet, "Material study of a vegetating Osiris"
  • Pierre Boesiger, "Jean Jaquet: the techniques of an ornamentalist in the 18th century"
  • Victor Lopes, "The Death of Socrates by F.-X. Fabre: study and restoration"

200 places, without registration.

The afternoon will be dedicated to studio visits (registration required), in the presence of the conservators-restorers.
