Olivier Molleyres
Bookbinder
Neuchâtel

« One facet of my job: giving a second life to an old, ragged book and seeing the customer’s pleasure in finding it. It is worth all the talk in the world. »

About

Olivier Molleyres was born in 1965 in Val-de-Ruz. At the age of 20, CFC in his pocket, he practiced 4 years in Lausanne, then returned to the country. After 2 years of craftsmanship, he slipped into the printing press and carried out the preparatory work there. In 2015, he took over the nearly century-old workshop of his trainer, Charles Vauthier, and in 2016, that of Bernard Capt.

« Paper has revolutionized the dissemination of culture. I love this material, fragile, alive. I have an almost carnal approach with him and a lot of respect »

This workshop, centenary in 2017, is the last in the city of Neuchâtel and is located in the heart of the city in a listed historic building. Olivier Molleyres deals with a very wide range of works: from the spiral calendar to the decorated full leather binding. Libraries, administration, printing, watchmaking, private individuals, lawyers and notaries are its clients.
