Sophie Meylan
Enameling machine on dial
Etoy

« I like the beauty of the colors and the games of transparency that working with enamel allows. »

About

After a course combining ceramics and drawing, Sophie Meylan turned to the profession of enameller in watchmaking. She trained on the job at Stern Créations where she learned the enameling of plain dials, as well as the Limoges white grisaille technique. She then set up on her own and developed her know-how by drawing inspiration from the techniques specific to her initial training.

« Like a rigorous researcher or a poet explorer, I explore the magic that takes place at each stage, from the grinding of the enamel to the last cooking fire and then to the polishing. »

Sophie Meylan also uses guilloché, champlevé or even engraved dial enamelling. Thanks to the particular attention paid to each stage of the enameling and to a high level of finish, it obtains high quality creations of which the big names in watchmaking such as Romain Gauthier, Piaget or Delaneau are fond.
