About

Description

During the JEMA, you will be able to attend a public conversation between Maëlle Gross, artist, and Jesse Gutknecht, artisan body painter at the Yverdon-les-Bains Contemporary Art Center (CACY).

To create the installation Real and Important Things Happened Here, which will soon be presented permanently at the Yverdon and Region Museum, the artist worked closely with the vehicle customization workshop Jesse Design in Epautheyres.

The form of the work, whose metallic paint with moiré effects testifies to a singular know-how, recalls that of the chests preserving the acts of the trials brought against alleged witches. The artist thus pays homage to the people persecuted for witchcraft in the Pays de Vaud, several hundred of whom were persecuted in Yverdon-les-Bains.
