DISCOVERY OF THE MECHANICAL MUSIC EXHIBITION

Visit with Estelle Fallet, Chief Curator

Some 135 music boxes and associated objects, brought together by the Genevan J.-A. Horngacher, known as Etienne Blyelle (1929-2013), were integrated in 2014 into the Watchmaking section of the Museum of Art and History: the project illustrates how such a merger contributes to broadening a historical and cultural context, by highlighting the links between watchmaking and artistic mechanics, especially in Geneva, by also evoking the diffusion of hit tunes, as well as by characterizing the acts of collecting and preserving.

The visit will take place on Sunday March 30 at 4:30 p.m. by registration only.

Demonstration with Gabrielle Minot-Matot, curator-restorer

Music boxes come to life...

The demonstration will take place continuously on Sunday, March 30 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
