In this work, Petia Knebel provides an overview of the basic manual assembly techniques (without a turntable), colored surface designs with engobes and glazes, and firing processes. Based on 30 different projects on artistic topics in the field of tension between applied and fine arts, the skills learned are then put into practice. Each individual topic is introduced by a short text contribution specific to the subject. The process of creating an exemplary work is then shown step by step using several photos. Other ceramics are shown as possible design results on the associated gallery page. In addition, numerous references to art and cultural history are listed with further information on artists and their works.
