Béatrice Archinard
Stone sculptor
Genève

« Steeped in my traditions, I try to convey most of my emotions through artistic expression. »

About

Béatrice Archinard has long been passionate about the visual arts: she has studied painting, modeling, engraving and sculpture and has trained in watercolor, oil and pastel painting and Japanese paper making. Keen to pass on her precious know-how, she is also a trainer.

« Marked by its traditions, it will try to convey most of its emotions through artistic expression. »

Béatrice Archinard draws her inspiration from light, a color, an impression or even a smell. She then looks for the technique and the material that seems most likely to express her feelings. In this way, the hard and cold stone is transformed, for example, into a piece filled with softness. The repetitive sound of the hammer, the chisel and the rasps allows her a total immersion in her creation until she obtains an osmosis between the material and the subject.
