Genève

« The art of sculpture allows the artist’s passion to be expressed and exploded, transforming abrupt curves into an enchanting sculpture. »

About

Born in Geneva, she has long been passionate about the plastic arts, she practices painting, engraving and sculpture. These are the modes of artistic expression that she prefers.

She studied painting with John Archinard, then Gratienne Nebel; modeling at the School of Decorative Arts with Renée Somers, engraving with Jacques Leckie and sculpture with Jo Fontaine. She trained in watercolour, oil painting and pastel, Japanese paper making, advanced engraving.

A light, a color, an impression, a smell, an idea are his sources of inspiration. She looks for the technique, the material that seems to her the most appropriate to allow her to best express her feelings, what touches her.

« Marked by its traditions, it will try to convey most of its emotions through artistic expression. »

Thus, from the hard and cold stone, is born and presents itself to the eyes of all as a piece filled with softness. The repetitive noise of the hammer, the chisel and the rasps allows a total immersion of the craftswoman in her creation until an osmosis between the material and the subject is obtained.

After courses at the School of Arts in Geneva, Béatrice Archinard continued to train over the years, with Master sculptors, until becoming a trainer in her turn. She draws her inspiration from the poetic verses of life and transcribes them passionately in each of her works.
