« The quartet’s luthier is responsible for all the stages of making the violin, the viola and the cello. »

The drawing of the instrument marks the beginning of its creation and the varnishing the closing. The luthier will then intervene at different periods of the life of the instrument, in particular for adjustments or during its restoration.

Bernard Bossert, luthier of the quartet for nearly 50 years, draws inspiration from the work of great Italian master luthiers of the 17th and 18th centuries. He works in collaboration with the musicians on several models of instruments in order to target the desires of the artist. He thus accomplishes with his hands each of the stages of the realization of an instrument.
