Jérôme Bougouin
Ornamental tinsmith
Boulens

« My father was a roofer. Seeing him work made me want to go up and sculpt the roofs. »

About

Jérôme Bougouin completed an apprenticeship as a roofer-zinc worker as well as a 7-year apprenticeship. During his training, he cultivated various techniques for transforming sheet metal, such as brassware, tinsmithing or the manufacture of roofing ornaments, but also sheet metal, forming and spinning.

« It was during my apprenticeship in roofing, then during a journey made of cultural discoveries and encounters, that my strength of expression through metal grew. »

In 2013, Jérôme Bougouin established his workshop in the old forge of Boulens. If copper is his favorite metal for weather vanes, he also uses zinc and brass to shape sculptures, decorative objects or even replicas of gladiator helmets.
