About
Coming from a family of artisan jewellers, Rodolfo Gambino was born in Cremona in 1979. He began his training at the International School of Violin Making in Cremona. At 17, he was a cello workshop master there. He continued his training in his master’s private workshop and then carried out various internships with great luthiers and orchestras.
In 2018, Rodolfo Gambino set up his studio in Lausanne. There he tunes, repairs and restores string instruments for accomplished virtuosos as well as for students like those of the nearby conservatory or other schools like the Menuhin Academy (Rolle, Gstaad). He also creates his own instruments, in the rigor of classical know-how but in a more personal aesthetic.
