About
Nicolas Kissling grew up in Oron-la-Ville in a family of gardeners. After working for a few years in advertising, he joined the family business Kissling Fleurs – which he manages today – and specialized in bonsai, an art born in China and developed in Japan for which he is passionate. For more than twenty years, it has hosted the Bonsai club of French-speaking Switzerland in its premises.
Bonsai are much more than decorative shrubs. Witnesses of ancestral know-how, they are passed on to following generations by surviving their gardener. Nicolas Kissling is one of them: he prunes, repots, waters, models and cares for these trees according to the rules of this art applicable to all tree species, with a predilection for Japanese maple, pine and juniper.
