About
Founded in the 1960s, Atelier Comte was originally a materials supplier focused more specifically on stone cutting. In 2006, Arnaud Olivier took over the company and expanded it. Now staffed by around fifteen employees and training apprentices, Atelier Comte contributes to maintaining the architectural and technical heritage.
Before coming into contact with the material, stone cutting is first and foremost a matter of interpretation and geometry in the face of a mute block that does not so easily reveal its shapes and volumes. Through knowledge of the different types of rock and the specificities of each, Arnaud Olivier meticulously chooses the one that will suit his purpose, that will withstand cutting, shaping, and transformation.
