« Touch the material, transform it and make the best of itself while respecting its characteristics. »

About

Founded in the 1960s, the Atelier Comte was originally a supplier of materials that focused more specifically on stone cutting. In 2006, Arnaud Olivier took over the company and developed it by tending towards ever greater rigor and quality. Today composed of about fifteen employees, also training apprentices, the Atelier Comte Succ. contributes to the maintenance of the architectural and technical heritage.

Before coming into contact with the material, stone cutting is first of all a matter of interpretation and geometry faced with a mute block which does not allow its shapes and volumes to show through so easily. By knowing the different types of rock, by recognizing the specificities of each, the stonecutter carefully chooses the one that will suit his purpose, that will withstand cutting, shaping and transformation. The Atelier Comte, through the mastery of know-how and knowledge of materials, participates in the maintenance, enhancement and transmission of the architectural and technical heritage.
