21 designers shortlisted for the 2017 LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers

The fourth edition of the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers is enjoying growing success, with more than 1,200 candidates representing 90 countries.

21 designers were selected by the selection committee for the Prize, under the supervision of Delphine Arnault, who declared: "The ever-increasing number of candidates for the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers once again testify to their enthusiasm for this resolutely internationally oriented. For this 2017 edition, we have selected 21 designers from Germany, Australia, Korea, Denmark, France, Spain, United States, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand, UK, Russia, Taiwan and Turkey. They will meet in Paris on March 2 and 3 to present their work to the experts and members of this exceptional jury who are accompanying us. Men’s fashion maintains its strong presence in the selection and coexists with women’s fashion with inspiring and demanding know-how. This year, two strong axes are to be noted in the proposals of the semi-finalists: first of all, streetwear under various influences which infuses a number of collections and, on the other hand, the idea of a mix of wardrobes which is an obvious slider from this edition. Boldness is the key word in the creations of these 21 selected young people. LVMH had to create this prize which rewards young creation but above all encourages the talents of tomorrow to develop. »

The LVMH Prize will be awarded by the Jury on June 16 to the Louis Vuitton Foundation.
