Bertille Laguet, designer and ironworker, receives a cultural grant from the Leenaards Foundation

Lausanne, September 11, 2018

Bertille Laguet has always wanted to test, experiment and put the world of metal to the test, a noble material but difficult to tame. Her incredible massive cast iron radiator, with which she obtained her diploma, clearly gives the future direction of her work: to invent new forms while knowing perfectly how to master traditional techniques. This scholarship will allow her, as she puts it so well, to maintain and renew the qualities of our gestural and material heritage.

"The Leenaards Cultural Grant will support my foundry research program and my training in ironwork techniques. My goal is to take over the Chexbres forge in the near future. This is a project that commits me to a long-term vision : Investing in this place will allow me to bring together my job as a designer and the know-how of an artistic ironworker to make it last in an innovative way."
