Brienz - A unique family - a piece of Brienz history

The One Family - For more than 200 years, many descendants of Kaspar Huggler, one of the region’s first woodcarvers, have been successful artists and artisans. The Swiss Museum of Woodcarving opens an exhibition in May with works from five generations.

"It is a phenomenon that artistic talents pass on from generation to generation", explains Martin Mätzener, curator of the collection. For some time now, the Huggler family has been involved in the founding of the collection and exhibition of woodcarvings in Brienz, and the special exhibition "The Schnitzler Huggler Dynasty Brienz, 200 years of art and craftsmanship" is open.
