Brienz - Craftsmen open their doors

Seventeen training establishments and workshops in the Brienz region invite the public to visit them on Friday and Saturday. The event will also allow appreciation of trades that have become rare, such as woodturning and forging.

In France and in French-speaking Switzerland, the European Days of Crafts (JEMA) have existed for several years. The Ballenberg training center wanted to celebrate the new membership of the canton of Bern in the Swiss Association of Arts and Crafts with the first establishment in German-speaking Switzerland. Brienz is a region conducive to craft days, explains Philipp Kuntze, manager of the training center. The town and its surroundings "became an agglomeration of fine craftsmanship and today offer a colorful variety of handicrafts".
