Geneva - A Swiss prize for the next generation for a Geneva saddler

Actumoto, Jérôme Ducret, May 3, 2020

At the end of 2019, Simon Dubouloz received the third prize for the next generation from the Swiss Arts and Crafts Association for his original sofa-saddle. The handover ceremony has not yet been able to take place due to restrictions imposed on travel and gatherings during the state of health emergency that Switzerland is still experiencing. Simon is a renowned upholsterer in the world of motorcycles. He quickly made a name for himself and today almost only creates made-to-measure creations on demand. Especially at the request of riders (he made a saddle for Tom Lüthi, Mat Rebeaud and Valentino Rossi, among others). Installed today in his workshop in Plan-les-Ouates, he also benefits from training as a motorcycle mechanic and a specialization as a mechanic in competition. The creation of the Geneva craftsman, a Café Racer-style saddle-sofa with musical speakers, won him third prize in the “up-and-coming” category. He spent 3 months there last year, sacrificing many weeknights there, and working there every weekend when there was no motorcycle race.
