Geneva - Giving life to an inanimate object is a profession. The scenographer of the Baur Museum, Nicole Gérard, explains how she organizes an exhibition.

Tribune de Genève, Pascale Zimmermann, April 3, 2019

At the Baur Foundation in the Old Town, scenographer Nicole Gérard is putting the finishing touches to the “Asia Chic” exhibition which will open its doors to the public on April 10 and until July 7.

Lines of inert statuettes in dusty showcases are a thing of the past. Today, museums compete in creativity to present their collections and flatter the visitor’s eye, while of course serving a purpose. Ensuring the harmony of this symphony of objects has a name: exhibition scenographer. A profession to discover during the European Days of Crafts (JEMA), which are held in Geneva on April 5, 6 and 7.
