Germany - Preserving the cultural heritage of craftsmanship

On behalf of the government, the BIBB has drawn up a new ordinance on continuing education which aims to preserve and perpetuate the cultural heritage of craftsmanship in Germany. Advanced courses are aimed at qualified craftsmen and conservators-restorers as well as public and private institutions. They cover the following professions: jeweler and goldsmith, coachbuilder, vehicle builder, interior decorator, organ and harmonium builder, engraver, watchmaker and gilder, mason and concreter, joiner and carpenter, metallurgist, floor worker, painter and varnisher, bookbinder, wood carver, metal carver, stucco worker, stonemason and stone carver, heavy vehicle technician. The ordinance came into effect in 2019.
