Gruyères - Fourth biennial fire arts market

Freedom, September 19, 2019

Ceramists, glassmakers, ironworkers and other craftsmen will be on display this weekend in Gruyères. For its fourth edition, the biennial fire arts market is broadening its horizons by inviting craftsmen from elsewhere and opening up to other traditional techniques. A delegation from Limousin crafts will notably be present to show the original work of French ceramists. A good thirty craftsmen will present their pieces in the heart of the county city where the public will be able to appreciate various techniques such as clay, raku or porcelain.

Many technical workshops will also take place in the open air at rue du Bourg and at Clos-aux-Cerfs. In particular, the public will be able to watch the casting of bronze, practice molding the clay, fired live, or learn how to blow glass.

Gruyères Cité comtale, Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 September 2019
