Paris - Chanel celebrates crafts in an intimate show

TV5 Monde, Olga Nedbaeva, December 5, 2019

Chanel celebrated crafts in Paris on Wednesday evening during an intimate fashion show in a setting designed by Sofia Coppola and reproducing Coco Chanel’s apartment. This traditional parade since 2002 highlights the unique know-how of embroiderers, feather-makers, jewelers, glove-makers and other crafts. The house is also in the process of building a new arts and crafts site at Porte d’Aubervilliers, in a popular district in the north of Paris, which will be inaugurated in the fall of 2020 and will bring together 600 people in modern and bright workshops. . The 25,500 m3 building, designed by the architect Rudy Ricciotti, author among others of MuCEM in Marseille and of the Department of Islamic Arts at the Louvre Museum, will house eleven houses.
