From Tuesday August 11 to Sunday August 16, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Arcades Métiers d’art Switzerland, Platform 10 in Lausanne
In her Geneva studio, Carolina Véliz modifies the texture of wool by rubbing it with soapy water. The felted wool is transformed into colorful stoles decorated with flowers and other hand-drawn motifs. To give life to her unique creations, she only works with natural fibres.
“My raw material comes mainly from Patagonian sheep. This wool, carefully carded, brings a particular personality to my creations. »
From Tuesday August 11 to Sunday August 16, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Carolina Véliz, felt maker in Cargue (GE), will demonstrate different felt working techniques and the steps that lead to its creation. She will also make pieces in nuno felt, combining several types of raw materials: merino wool, alpaca, silk, cotton.
