Exposition, 14.3. – 11.8.2019, Museum of Design Zurich
Whether on the first ascent of Everest or on the streets of Paris and London: With its first-class shoes, Bally has achieved worldwide fame. The Swiss-based company is considered a pioneer in the marriage of craftsmanship, industrial innovation and fashionable design. Since its beginnings almost 170 years ago, it has successfully pursued a strongly internationally oriented strategy. The exhibition follows in the footsteps of shoe production – from the corporate culture of the 19th century to the interconnected professional world of today. This can be experienced not only by admiring never-before-seen originals, fashion designs and machinery from the Bally archives, but also by trying on current designs – from classic leather shoes to brightly colored sneakers. .
