Zurich - Christmas and nativity scenes

For many years, during Advent, the National Museum Zurich has hosted its traditional nativity scene exhibition. In 2019, this one gets a makeover, featuring nativity scenes from Europe, Africa, America and Asia in a romantic winter landscape. The materials used are highlighted, because depending on the region, the nativity scenes are made of terracotta, paper, wood or plant fibers. Photographs from the past hundred years also provide insight into Christmas traditions around the world.
