« The purpose of my work is to offer a kind of complicity between the instrument and the musician by taking care of ergonomics and sound, without forgetting aesthetics. »
Passionate about music and wood since his childhood, Daniel Borel combines his two passions into one art: that of building guitars by hand in all styles, from the cigar box to the jazz, electric or folk guitar. He is also a crafts teacher for primary and secondary I students, with whom he makes electric guitars.

Daniel Borel’s workshop is teeming with tools such as saws, vices and files. This is where the magic happens. From the choice of woods – which he prefers native – to the final adjustments, he calls on his senses to build his guitars: the feel of the wood, the smell of the essences, the attentive look at the details and, finally, the listening of the resonance of the wood once the strings are up.
