Martine Fiaux Porchet
Vegetable dyer and textile designer
Oron-La-Ville

« Wearing a plant-dyed and printed piece is like wearing a little piece of the garden on you. »

About

Martine Fiaux Porchet has always been attracted to sewing, embroidery and knitting. After a career as an engineer, she moved to China and then to England with her family where she discovered vegetable dyeing and printing. Back in Switzerland in 2019, she continues to develop her passion before opening her Créa-tine workshop in 2021 where she creates and offers training.

« I am captivated by the harmonious marriage of natural tones and delicate plant prints, the result will never be the same twice. Thus, each piece is unique. »

To create her vegetable dyes and prints, Martine Fiaux Porchet cultivates a dye garden and harvests, according to the seasons, plants in forests, orchards, parks or even from florists for exotic varieties. She works with animal fibers such as wool or silk and revalorizes plant fibers such as old cotton or linen fabrics.
