Christophe Burlet
Art glassmaker
Lausanne

« Glass imposes limits on the production of stained glass. The biggest challenge remains the assembly of immaterial vibrations to create emotion. »

About

Born in 1965 in Geneva, Christophe Burlet sought his way in university audiences before choosing artistic direction by entering the Higher School of Stained Glass and Creation (school founded in Sion by the French master glassmaker Pierre Louy).

« The restoration is an opening on the know-how of our predecessors. To restore is to understand. It also stimulates creativity. »

Graduated in 1994, Christophe Burlet took over the Chiara workshop the same year and put it in his name in 1996. He perfected his experience alongside Karl-Heinz Randtke and perpetuated the tradition of leaded stained glass and glass slabs. Among his restorations, we find that of the dome of the Montreux Palace, the stained glass windows of the Palais Wilson and those of Notre Dame des Grâces in Geneva.
