Originally from Chaux-de-Fonnière, Ariane Delabays first took textile lessons in Basel. In 1993, she left for the United States where she trained at the School of Fashion Design in Boston. Back in Switzerland, she followed an internship with Grégoria Recio in Geneva. She creates pieces for individuals as well as for shows, notably the ballet Casse-Noisette by Maurice Béjart in 1998.

Ariane Delabays opened her workshop in Lausanne in 2002. There she makes unique pieces for individuals, museums or theaters in the region. Honored by several professional awards, she attaches great importance to the interplay of materials. In his workshop, fabrics and ribbons rub shoulders with more specific materials such as rabbit hair felt, feathers, straw, sisal or even banana fibers.
