About
Silke Droessaert found her way by chance when she joined a master gilder-framer in Lausanne. Three years later, she obtained her CFC after having learned, among other things, to recognize acanthus leaves, rosettes and stripes of hearts. Subsequently, her passion for old engravings led her to train in the conservation and restoration of graphic documents at the Ecole du Vésinet in Paris.
In 1986, Silke Droessaert opened her first workshop in Préverenges. After a brief stint in Saint-Sulpice, she moved into the old dairy in Vufflens-la-Ville, a place she still occupies today. She and her team restore old objects entrusted to them by private individuals, collectors or museums, whether frames, furniture or sculptures in gilded or polychrome wood.
