Luc Feitknecht
Ceramist
Glarus

About

Luc Feitknecht worked for many years in applied research in Neuchâtel where he was interested in coating techniques. The family owns a pottery in which he began developing his own enamels and turning his ceramics 30 years ago: cups, bowls, water jugs. For his creations, Luc Feitknecht likes to draw inspiration from Egyptian and Roman forms. He tries to reproduce contemporary and historical glazing techniques, for example from Iran or China, by carrying out research.

As a physics teacher, Luc Feitknecht likes to pass on his pottery practice to apprentices. The enthusiasm of young people allows him to establish links between natural sciences and crafts, particularly when developing enamels from wood ashes and minerals from our mountains and rivers. He is a member of the Friends of Swiss Ceramics: https://www.keramikfreunde.ch
