« Art conservation and restoration means both seeking proximity to works of art and opening up, “as a detective,” to ways of exploring materials… »

At the Hôtel-Dieu Museum, Carole Joos will present a work that is in the process of being restored: an 18th century ivory wooden Calvary from the parish of Porrentruy. It will evoke and represent the interventions that such an object requires in terms of preventive conservation and restoration, the sources of degradation and the means implemented to remedy them and to fuel the quest for aesthetics that characterizes its field of activity.
