About
Born August 13, 1987 in Breitenbach (SO), Carole Joos received an academic education. She obtained her high school diploma in 2006 at the Lycée cantonal de Porrentruy then her Bachelor (in 2010) and her Master of Art (in 2013) at the Haute École des Arts de Berne, specializing in the conservation and restoration of paintings and sculptures. She completed her training with several internships in Switzerland and Germany. Today, she divides her professional activity between the Hôtel-Dieu Museum and the AReA workshop in Porrentruy.
At the Hôtel-Dieu Museum, Carole Joos will present a work that is in the process of being restored: an 18th century ivory wooden Calvary from the parish of Porrentruy. It will evoke and represent the interventions that such an object requires in terms of preventive conservation and restoration, the sources of degradation and the means implemented to remedy them and to fuel the quest for aesthetics that characterizes its field of activity.
