Hans-Peter Kneuss
Glass-blower
Meyrin

« The glass does not lack breath. »

About

A glassblower for several decades, Hans-Peter Kneuss creates artistic pieces in his workshop with high-quality materials or pieces for the scientific field (test tubes, beakers, carafes). The profession of scientific glassblower, necessary for companies such as Firmenich or for universities, is struggling to find a successor in the canton of Geneva. Passionate about his profession, Hans-Peter Kneuss has trained several apprentices.

« With a lot of creativity and passion, during all this time I was able to create numerous pieces, each one crazier than the last. »

Although Hans-Peter Kneuss prefers to work with glass in an artistic way, he also makes items for private individuals or artists, such as old-fashioned light bulbs. His creations are made from glass tubes or rods shaped with a blowtorch or in a kiln at 1260°C. They are then stabilized by a second firing in a kiln at 550°C.
