Bertille Laguet
Art ironworker
Chexbres

« I orient my work as a designer on artisanal know-how, local and conscious production to stay in line with my values. »

About

Bertille Laguet follows a technical course that allows her to discover how objects are made before learning to design them herself. During her studies in industrial design, she became familiar with the foundry and later discovered iron working with the ironworker Philippe Naegele, whose forge she took over. She is the winner of the Second Prize for Relève Métiers d’art 2018.

« I wanted to understand objects differently. I knew how they were made. I wanted to learn how to draw them. »

In 2014, Bertille Laguet opened her designer studio where she developed the GrisFonte radiators she designed – and for which she was awarded – and worked, among others, for Vacheron Constantin or the French portal company Cofreco. At the same time, she works as an ironworker with Philippe Naegele who passes on his know-how to her.
