Yves Linder
Luthier
Champagne

« I make my own varnishes with resins and natural dyes without chemically treating the wood, to avoid altering the sound quality. »

About

Born in Neuchâtel in 1964 to a Swiss father and a French mother, Yves Linder calls himself “of European mentality”. He completed his apprenticeship as a luthier in Brienz from 1988 to 1991, under the direction of Ulrich Walter Zimmermann. He then left for the south of France to practice mainly repairs. He returned to Switzerland in 1998 and settled in Ependes.

« Each instrument that leaves my workshop has its own personality representative of a slice of my life as a luthier. »

Yves Linder opened his workshop in Yverdon-les-Bains in 2002. He returned to making the quartet and produced about 5 to 6 instruments per year. Its clientele consists mainly of students in the professional class, that is to say, musicians demanding a high quality of instruments, while being at an affordable price.
