Together with the art historian Erasmus Weddigen, Sonya Weddigen founded the conservation studio saveart in 1997. The focus of her work is the conservation and restoration of canvas paintings and wood panel paintings from the 17th century. in the 20th century, but also wooden sculptures and contemporary art from various disciplines.

In doing so, she adheres to the principle of minimal intervention and strives to achieve conservation success for as long as possible with the least invasive means.
