According to the will of its creator, François Junod, "The fairy Ondine" and its universe tell a story. She sparkles with a thousand lights, this little white gold fairy set with diamonds. Motionless, the piece created for Van Cleef & Arpels is already exceptional. What to say then when the scene begins to move, when the silver water lily leaf on which it rests begins to undulate, as if driven by the current, when Ondine’s frail wings beat gently in the air and when her face emerges from its torpor turns towards the larger of the two silver flowers which opens to release the butterfly of white gold and precious stones that it contained?
