Cannes Film Festival - The Palme d’Or, a refined jewel created in Switzerland

In a workshop in Geneva, eight artisans work to transform a very large block of crystal and ethically sourced gold into one of the world’s most sought-after film awards.

The Palme d’Or, a golden palm branch on a crystal base, is the top prize at the Cannes Film Festival, which ends on May 19. It has been made by the Swiss jeweler Chopard for 21 years.
