Château-d’Oex - The last boilermaker in French-speaking Switzerland

RTS Pass me the binoculars, November 2, 2018

Pierre Turrian will soon be the last boilermaker in French-speaking Switzerland. During 50 years of hard work, he made and repaired hundreds of alpine cauldrons in his workshop in Château-d’Oex. At 69, the man has extraordinary character and willpower. By the force of his wrist he gave billions of hammer blows to shape masses of raw copper. A mountaineer at heart, over the years he has forged solid friendships with alpine cheese makers. The cauldron man is feared, but loved. His passion for the manufacture of cowbells also made him famous and desired in the alpine environment. Pierre Turrian will have made his 1000th and last cowbell during the filming of Passe-moi les jumelles.
