To make known and promote crafts: this is the objective of the European Days of Crafts, which take place from this Friday and until Sunday in Switzerland and across Europe. Craftsmen open their doors, as does the Professional Training Center for Construction, the CFPC, on Friday and Saturday, at La Jonction in Geneva. Every year, young people are trained there in the wood or metallurgy trades, in particular. But the CFPC is struggling to recruit. In the wood trades, for example, there were 180 apprentices 10 years ago. 163 today. Marc Lehmann, dean of the wood trades.
For apprentices, it is an opportunity to show their work. According to them, these professions are often misunderstood. Listen Louca and Blerton, both in their third year of apprenticeship in tinsmithing.
The public will be able to visit the wood and metal workshops on Friday. On Saturday, the CFPC organizes demonstrations and workshops that will allow you to try out these trades.
