Hans-Martin Bader, luthier at Premier (VD) presents his profession from his workshop

“In my violins, there is not only my name. There is a bit of myself. And a little sweat too. Violin making begins with fairly raw work. »

Born in Bavaria, Hans-Martin Bader learned violin making at the Matthias Klotz School in Mittenwald. He studies the violin, the cello and the guitar. He obtained his master’s degree in luthier in 1971 and opened his first lutherie workshop in Allaman before settling in 1982 in Premier, in a farm built in 1814. It was there that he practiced his art of lutherie which he alternates with working the land.
