In Pomy, Valérie de Roquemaurel blows the glass at the top of her lungs

To be practiced at the highest level, glassblowing requires talent, commitment and determination. Valérie de Roquemaurel does not lack any of the three, magnifying molten silica in her workshop in Pomy, in the canton of Vaud.

Leaning over her drawing board, Valérie de Roquemaurel sketches a chandelier, commissioned by an important museum in the region. At this early hour, the workshop is particularly quiet, conducive to creation. About fifteen multicolored spheres, of various sizes, form an elegant luminous suspension on the sheet of paper. From design to installation, however, there are many pitfalls. And a lot of sweat.
