Lausanne - Mosaic artists are rare in French-speaking Switzerland. Portrait of Adriana Cavallaro.

RTS.CH, Le 1245, Claude-Olivier Volluz, July 30, 2019

The mosaicists perpetuate the history of Roman civilization and can be counted on the fingers of one hand. Their works are an integral part of our heritage. Adriana Cavallaro derives her vocation from her country of origin, Italy. Trained in Ravenna, the cradle of Byzantine mosaic, she learned to tame the elements.

"You have to listen to the stone"

Alternately tiler or stonemason, the artist produces reproductions of old mosaics and also works of his own. She is currently working on a logo for an eco-district in Orbe, reproducing the mosaics of Orbe, famous throughout Switzerland.
