Marianne Dubuis celebrates four decades dedicated to the carving of the Pays-d’Enhaut with an exhibition in Blankenburg (BE). She falls into this art early, from the age of 13, to the point of quitting her job to devote herself fully to it, fifteen years ago. His creations now adorn plates and boxes of Cailler chocolates.
"Living with it is not easy. You have to produce a lot, repeat yourself. I did it when I started. It didn’t work for me: I started having serial health problems. I I need to create."
There are eight of them in the Pays-d’Enhaut – including three men – keeping alive this tradition that is inseparable from the region. It should also host the National Center dedicated to this art by 2022.
