South Korea - Switzerland strongly represented at the most important event dedicated to crafts in Southeast Asia

Cheongju Fine Craft Biennale, September 13 to October 22, 2017

Located 110 km south of Seoul, in the heart of South Korea, Cheongju has more than 800,000 inhabitants. Capital of its province, Cheongju is considered the birthplace of printing (at the end of the 14th century, more than 80 years before Gutenberg, the oldest surviving book was printed with movable type) . Six hundred years later, in 1999, the first international arts and crafts biennial was born, in a former tobacco factory. With 3,000 craftsmen from around sixty countries each time, the Cheongju Biennial has become the most important event devoted to crafts in Southeast Asia. 300,000 to 500,000 visitors are expected at this tenth edition.

Switzerland will be represented there by a strong delegation from all over Switzerland to animate the Swiss pavilion, including the vocational training centers in Geneva, Vevey and Bienne.
