Vaudois and Japanese specialists have been working for more than a year on a state-of-the-art craft project: a katana which should revalorize local know-how. The katana dreamed of by French-speaking and Japanese craftsmen uses ore extracted from the combières forests. This is one of those art projects that makes the eyes of those who talk about it sparkle. “We relearn the gestures of those who preceded us. We ask ourselves the same questions, we understand their problems. It’s fascinating,” explains Joseph Currat, blacksmith at the Vallorbe Iron Museum.
