Horses occupy an important place in the life of Fabienne Panelati. Saddler since 1984, she is also a professional horse rider and driver. In 2008, she took over the saddlery Kuhnen – which has existed since 1959 – with the help of her husband Alain Panelati, a horseman by training. In addition, it trains apprentices and offers courses in upholstery or leather work.

Fabienne Panelati holds the reins of the last horse-riding saddlery in Geneva. In this place that smells of leather, she repairs harnesses and halters, reupholsters worn-out horse saddles or makes bags and various custom-made items. With sure and precise gestures, she cuts the leather, sews it – sometimes using two needles – and shapes it into unique objects.
