About
The workshop-gallery opened its doors in 2015. A collective operation combining technique and traditional gestures in different fields: six young ladies work together where the choice of recycled, ethical and ecological materials is the common denominator of their work.
At n° 2 rue Numa-Droz, once stood “the house of the young lady” which owed its name to the portrait of a young bourgeois woman painted on a shutter. In 2015, the young lady was reborn in a new light: a workshop, a shop and a gallery showcasing the unique and sustainable development works created in this place. These creators are all graduates of the school of applied arts in La Chaux-de-Fonds, engraving or jewelery section where some teach there to pass on their passion.
Noémie Lagger became a jeweler in 2010. Independent for 5 years, she was one of the initiators of the La Demoiselle creation. Fascinated by simple shapes, antique jewelry, stones or brass, her creations find a contemporary sensibility.
Yaëlle Lässer finished in 2003 and continued as a florist. She returns to her first love to create the workshop-gallery where we find her vegetal and organic inspirations in creations of sober shapes, often oxidized.
Capucine Parel obtained her CFC as a jeweler in 2011 and from the creation of La Demoiselle, she exhibited her collections combining the flat, the rigid and the straight, where nothing is fixed. The stones bring hints of color to his universe.
Amandine Bettinelli has been pursuing her passion as an engraver for 10 years. After working for fine watchmaking by exploring metal engraving techniques, as well as linocut, she joined the La Demoiselle team in 2017.
