Stéphane Anken
Blacksmith knife maker
Etoy

« After gleaning some tools and crafting a forge, I set about knocking on my first piece of steel. The taste for sharpness was born. »

About

Passionate about blacksmithing for more than 20 years, Stéphane Anken learned the trade through experimentation, trials and exchanges with other fans. In 2018, he left his job in communication to devote himself to cutlery and set up his forge at the Ateliers de la Côte. He organizes training courses for initiates and the curious.

« Refining, working with raw materials and creating functional and durable objects: this gives me great satisfaction. »

In the Morget forge, Stéphane Anken handles a wide variety of materials: steel, iron, silver, copper and even wood or leather. With hammer blows on his anvil, he fashions knives for various uses, from cooking to hunting or fishing, or even tools for cutting tools with specialized functions. Since 2012, he has exhibited at the iron museum on the occasion of the annual cutlery show.
