About
Michel Québatte is one of the few people to make a living from basketry in the canton of Vaud. Originally from the region and an electrician by training, he discovered basketry at school and through old manuals before going to Fayl-Billot, the capital of French basketry. He is the first Swiss to become a dignitary of the French Brotherhood of Noble Osier Shapers.
Michel Québatte creates personal works or works to order. He also repairs, transforms and restores old and contemporary wicker and rattan objects. He collaborates with the ECAL in particular for a carbon fiber bassinet. In addition, Michel Québatte offers a wide range of training courses for children and adults.
